Advance 'Marry' Christmas to Ogie and Regine |

FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo August 05, 2010 12:00 AM
• As in the defunct Wowowee, Pokwang carries on her penchant for hugging and kissing good-looking men, whether guest star or part of the studio audience, to the new ABS-CBN noontime show Pilipinas Win Na Win (which is very clearly a Kris Aquino show because as main host, Kris all but eclipses her co-hosts including, aside from Pokwang, Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez and Valerie Concepcion). Yesterday, Pokwang went a little too far by putting her legs across the lap of a blushing American guy whom she showered with her usual hugs and kisses. If it were a male host doing that to female (star or guest), he would be accused of sexual harassment — on the air at that! Of course, with Kris on the show, MTRCB chief Consoliza Laguardia might think 10 times before sending the show a “warning.” Takot lang n’ya kay P-Noy, ‘no!

Willie: Is it goodbye ABS-CBN? & The truth behind Kris' 'pregnancy' |
|
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo July 29, 2010 12:00 AM
Now that Wowowee has been phased out…temporarily?…does it mean that Willie Revillame will finally bid ABS-CBN goodbye and, like Cesar Montano and “another Kapamilya” who’s turning Kapuso anytime now, jump ober da bakod to another (not necessarily Kapuso) station?
That’s the big question of the hour as another show, Pilipinas Win Na Win, replaces the timeslot (after Showtime) of Wowowee on Saturday, July 31, the date earlier bruited about as Willie’s much-awaited comeback to the show from which he has been “on leave” (or “suspended” from) more than three months ago.

Will Willie go back to Wowowee? |
|
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo 26, 2010 12:00 AM
First, the much-awaited official statement from ABS-CBN, issued yesterday after (closed-door?) meeting among Wowowee host Willie Revillame and ABS-CBN big bosses Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos-Concio. But, of course, Funfare’s VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent was there, so invisible that the three didn’t see “it”, hehehehe!).
Statement on Meeting Between ABS-CBN and Willie Revillame:
ABS-CBN management and Willie Revillame pushed through with their scheduled talk yesterday afternoon (Monday, May 24).

FUNFARE UPDATE By Ricardo F. Lo May 14, 2010 12:00 AM
Now that her brother, Sen. Noynoy Aquino, is apparently well on his way to Malacañang, Kris Aquino has become a favorite target of Twitter enthusiasts asking if she will keep her “promise” to leave the country with her family (husband James Yap and their kids Joshua and Baby James) and work for the TFC (The Filipino Channel) if Noynoy would win in the presidential race.
If you recall, Kris said something to that effect several weeks before the May 10 polls when she got into that messy issue involving James and another woman (suspected to be having an “affair” with him but it turned out that she and James were “just friends”). Kris-bashers were quick to drag Noynoy into the controversy, urging everybody “not to vote” for Noynoy even if he didn’t have anything to do with it.

How Will got into the Drill video |
|
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo January 28, 2010 12:00 AM
Have you seen the Drill dance formation performed by the Cebu City Jail inmates, to the tune of the Michael Jackson song They Don’t Really Care About Us, and now drawing record viewers on the YouTube, with over one million hits in only two days?
It’s eye-popping, especially the ending where the inmates formed a giant “peace” sign.
The flag-bearer in the video is none other than Pinoy Big Brother graduate Will Devaughn who got into it by chance.
“My manager, Dondon (Monteverde), invited me to watch the shoot,” Will told Funfare. “Before I knew it, kasali na ako. And I enjoyed it very much!”

MiG wows crowd in Broadway debut |
|
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo January 18, 2010 12:00 AM
A few issues ago, Funfare reported the “scoop” that MiG Ayesa, the Fil-Aussie who finished among the Top 3 in the CBS search for INXS vocalist, was making his Broadway debut in the musical Burn The Floor.
“MiG delivered a splendid performance Tuesday night (Jan. 5) as the musical’s lead male vocalist,” wrote Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre in his follow-up report.
An SRO audience at the Longacre Theatre on 48th Street and Broadway gave MiG a roar of approval.
