FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo

They’re the stuff fantasies are made of.
With that line, S magazine proceeded to draw what it considers The 20 Sexiest Showbiz Bachelors based on, “beyond physical assets,” criteria that include “positive attitude, good disposition, strong work ethic and natural charm.”
S editor-in-chief Wilson Lee Flores (who writes a column for this paper’s Life section) requested Funfare to “play up” the main come-on of the mag’s October issue. Request granted.
And here, according to S mag, are The 20 Sexiest Showbiz Bachelors (at random order, apparently):
• ALJUR ABRENICA (2006 StarStruck Ultimate Hunk)
• DINGDONG DANTES (ranked No. 3 by E! Entertainment Television Hollywood on its list of The 25 Sexiest Men in the World)
• PIOLO PASCUAL (currently starring with KC Concepcion in the ABS-CBN telenovela Lovers in Paris) ------
• JOHN LLOYD CRUZ (fresh from his potentially “award-winning” performance as Luis Manzano’s lover in Star Cinema’s In My Life, with Vilma Santos)
• AKIHIRO SATO (the Brazilian-Japanese model starring with Ruffa Mae Quinto in the GMA teledrama Moshi, Moshi, I Love You and one of the contestants in Celebrity Duets)
• DEREK RAMSAY (former MTV VJ who has developed into a fine actor; most-sought-after commercial model)
• JAKE CUENCA (one of Bench’s popular endorsers; praised for his performance in the ABS-CBN teledrama Tayong Dalawa)
• RICHARD GUTIERREZ (Environment Hero, currently starring with Cristine Reyes in Patient X, directed by Yam Laranas, which Richard himself is co-producing under his own company R Gutz Productions with Viva Films and GMA Films)
• SAM MILBY (a Fil-Am Star Magic contract artist “imported” from Ohio, USA)
• GERALD ANDERSON (a Pinoy Big Brother graduate who also got a thumbs-up for his performance in Tayong Dalawa)
• MARC NELSON (a half-Burmese/half-Aussie “citizen of the world,” well-rounded TV host and in-demand commercial model)
• JON AVILA (another PBB former housemate, of the reality-TV’s Celebrity Edition, member of Star Magic’s Batch 15, half-Irish/half-Filipino)
• MARK HERRAS (2003 StarStruck winner known as The Bad Boy of the Dancefloor)
• VICTOR ALIWALAS (A “Fil-Am hottie” introduced in the GMA romance Marimar and now seen in Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit)
• WILL DEVAUGHN (part-German, part-Filipino and part-African-American, another former PBB housemate)
• KIKO RUSTIA (appeared in the first edition of Survivor Philippines and now co-hosts Born to Be Wild on GMA)
• ENCHONG DEE (Silver medalist swimmer at 2005 SEA Games, member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic)
• RICO BLANCO (former Rivermaya member, now going solo as a Warner Music contract artist)
• LUIS MANZANO (TV host and commercial model who proved his thespic talent in In My Life playing the son of his own mom, Vilma Santos)
• CHRIS TIU (Ateneo Blue Eagle superstar, host of GMA shows Pinoy Records and Believe It or Not)
