That Anne Curtis is more than just a pretty face is amply proven by the Best Actress award she got in the 2008 Metro Manila Filmfest for her performance in the war romance-drama Baler as a mestiza who falls in love with an indio (played by Jericho Rosales).
That Anne is a box-office star in her own right is confirmed by Star Cinema’s Babe, I Love You, her latest movie (still showing nationwide) with ex(?)-boyfriend Sam Milby; and will, for sure, be validated by her next movie, GMA Films/Viva Films’ In Your Eyes, with Claudine Barretto and Richard Gutierrez.

MiG wows crowd in Broadway debut |

A few issues ago, Funfare reported the “scoop” that MiG Ayesa, the Fil-Aussie who finished among the Top 3 in the CBS search for INXS vocalist, was making his Broadway debut in the musical Burn The Floor.
“MiG delivered a splendid performance Tuesday night (Jan. 5) as the musical’s lead male vocalist,” wrote Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre in his follow-up report.
An SRO audience at the Longacre Theatre on 48th Street and Broadway gave MiG a roar of approval.

How Will got into the Drill video |

Have you seen the Drill dance formation performed by the Cebu City Jail inmates, to the tune of the Michael Jackson song They Don’t Really Care About Us, and now drawing record viewers on the YouTube, with over one million hits in only two days?
It’s eye-popping, especially the ending where the inmates formed a giant “peace” sign.
The flag-bearer in the video is none other than Pinoy Big Brother graduate Will Devaughn who got into it by chance.
“My manager, Dondon (Monteverde), invited me to watch the shoot,” Will told Funfare. “Before I knew it, kasali na ako. And I enjoyed it very much!”

Let’s get real.
First things first.
No, Derek Ramsay is not your typical rich boy born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. He’s down-to-earth and he doesn’t snort at poor people, even if he was born in England by a British father and a Filipina mother. Derek can live like a prince but no, he’s not the idle-rich type.
“I work for my keep,” he insists. “I have to work my way up to the top. I don’t want to just sit pretty and wait for things to be served to me on a silver platter.”
He joined showbiz against his parents’ wishes.
